HOOLEST PRO SUPPORT QUESTIONS
How do I know if I have it in the right spot?
You know you’re in the right spot when you feel a “buzzing” feeling going up into your ear. If you only feel the buzzing or prickly feeling on your skin but not in your ear, you’re not in the right spot.
Rotate the stimulators on either side until you get that buzzing feeling going up into your ear. Once you get that feeling, you’re on the right spot.
I feel it more on one side than the other. Is that normal?
Yes that is completely normal.
This can occur because the nerve may be slightly deeper in the neck on one side than the other. Or one side of the stimulator may not be perfectly on top of the nerve as the other side, so you’ll feel it more on one side. Or your skin may not be evenly hydrated and therefore you may feel it more on one side.
This is normal and does not mean it isn’t working. As long as you feel just one side of the nerve, you’ll get effective results.
However, we recommend adjusting the stimulators or hydrating your skin for optimal even results.
What if I’m not feeling anything in my ear?
The most common reason you don’t feel anything is the gel tips are not pressed deeply enough into the stimulators. If you don’t feel anything, first remove the headphones from your head. Then turn down the intensity to 0. Then press the gel tips slightly more firmly into the stimulators to make sure they are pressed all the way in.
Then reapply the headphones back to your head and begin turning it up.
If you still don’t feel anything, press the headphones into your head a little harder and see if that solves the problem.
Warning: do not turn up the intensity beyond level 5 if you do not feel anything. If you turn it all the way up to 20 and then press the headphones into your head, it will be very jolting. It isn’t dangerous and won’t cause harm, but it will be quite startling.
If you don’t feel anything, always keep it below level 5 until you start to feel the stimulation. Then you can turn it up past that level to a level that is comfortable for you.
I feel it on my neck but not in my ear. What do I do?
Simply rotate the stimulator components from the bottom. This will adjust where you feel the stimulation on your neck. Rotate it back and forth until you find the spot where you feel the buzzing going up into your ear.
It feels uncomfortable. What do I do?
Turn it down
Add skin hydration gel to your skin
Rotate the stimulators until you find a more comfortable spot.
Replace gel tips with fresh gel tips.
Why do I hear a light buzzing when Noise Cancellation and Stimulation are both on?
When Noise Cancellation is active and the stimulation level is turned up, a small buzzing sound can occur. This is normal and comes from the same technology that creates the noise-canceling effect picking up and amplifying the stimulation signal. Most users hardly notice it once music or audio is playing. If the buzz bothers you, switch the headphones to standard (non-noise-canceling) mode for the quietest experience.
I’m getting a lot of muscle contractions in my face and neck. Is that bad?
No this is normal. If it is uncomfortable, simply turn it down or rotate the stimulator piece until the muscle contractions go away or are reduced.
How long should I use it for?
The recommended duration for maximum effect is 10 minutes. You will likely notice effects much faster, but our data suggest 10 minutes is the optimal time for maximal results.
You may use it longer than 10 minutes if you desire.
For longer sessions, we recommend using it a much lower intensity.
What is the right intensity level to use it for?
Everyone is different. Always start out at level 0 before turning it up. Do not turn it up past level 5 until you noticeably feel a sensation coming out of the gel tips and you feel the buzzing in your ear.
Most people will feel it around level 2-3. Some may need to turn it up to level 5-6. The goal is to turn it up to a level that is as high as you can comfortably tolerate. It should be a strong buzzing sensation but not uncomfortable.
Maintain that sensation for the duration of your session. If at any time during the session it becomes uncomfortable, you can turn down the stimulation. You can also turn it up in the middle of a session if you wish.
How long can I use it for at once?
You can use it for as long as you wish. Our minimum recommended duration for maximum impact is 10 minutes at a time.
How many times per day can I use it?
You can safely use it as often as you desire.
There is no known amount of time you need to wait before using it again. However, the more you use it the more you’ll become aware of how your body responds to it and how much time you need between each session.
At a minimum, we recommend once per day for 10 minutes at a time that is most convenient for you.
Do I have to use the bluetooth to use the stimulator?
No you do not have to use the bluetooth to use the stimulator. You can use the stimulator without connecting to your phone to listen to music.
Do I have to use the bluetooth to listen to music?
No you do not have to use the bluetooth to listen to music. You can use a standard 3.5mm jack to plug directly into an audio source if you prefer a non-bluetooth option.
How do I charge the stimulator?
The charging port for the stimulator is on the piece with the screen between the power button and the timer button. This charging port is exclusively for the stimulator. Charging at this location will not charge the headphones. We recommend charging the headphones every day to full charge for all day use, similar to how you need to charge your phone each day.
The charging port for the headphones is on the bottom right side of the headphone itself. This port is for charging the headphone battery, not the stimulator. Charging here will not charge the stimulator components.
How do I connect to bluetooth?
Press and hold the black circular power button on the headphone itself on the right side. There is only one black circular button on the headphones. Press it down and hold it for 3-5 seconds. You’ll hear the headphones power on. They should automatically start searching for a bluetooth connection.
Open up your bluetooth settings and search for HOOLEST PRO. Tap on it to connect to the headphones.
Once connected, your headphones will automatically connect each time you power them on.
How do I know when I need to replace the gel tips?
The gel tips will last between 7-30 days before needing to be replaced.
Using the device 3-5 times per day may require replacing gel tips every week for optimal performance.
Using the device once per day may require replacing gel tips every 30 days.
You’ll know when they need to be replaced when they become too dry, too small and they start to fall out, they stop making flush contact with your skin, you stop feeling a strong buzzing out of the gel tips even at full power, or it has been past 30 days since you last replaced them.
There is not recommended time for when to replace the gel tips. Simply replace them as often as you need or when you simply don’t get good performance out of them. Performance typically degrades after 30 days.
